Why choose NORWIKs?
-“THE NORWIK EFFECT”: Shortly after starting to use NORWIKs you are likely to feel your patterns instantly getting more stable and you are able to run patterns for longer. An example, founder Kristian Wanvik has juggled for 14 years and normally breaks his 7 ball record once a year at the most, even when using other Russians. After one month of using NORWIKs Kristian broke his 7 ball record 5 times in one single month.
-They have a very dead drop and roll less often than other Russians that are filled more.
-Since all the sand goes to the bottom and is close to your palm they are very easy to catch. Also this much better than other Russians that are filled more.
-Due to the relative large size of the ball and lightness the NORWIKs move a tiny bit slower in the air than other balls/beanbags. This slowing down of the pattern will help your control. (Imagine on the extreme side a balloon, it falls very slowly) On top of the flight the sand has to change direction making the balls stay at it´s peak for a tiny bit longer and since that is where a juggler looks almost all the time it gives you a tiny bit more information about your pattern.
-Due to the fact that the ball is around half the weight of a regular beanbag while at the same time having a lot of “feel” it will be much more fun to juggle and you can keep your patterns for longer since you don´t wear out as fast. You can practice your tricks for longer and not loose the good feel from getting tired.
-With a traditional ball or beanbag the ball will roll off your fingers when being thrown. You have to be able to roll the ball very exactly each time to make it get the right direction. Since the sand of the NORWIKs stays in the bottom during the time the ball is in your hand, the balls sort of release very cleanly without rolling out off your fingers the same way. This really helps eliminating one factor that can give you inaccurate throws when you use another ball. Many Russians do not have as much of this effect as the NORWIKs do.
-They look very nice due to their roundness and clear color. They are large enough for visibility on stage or in a video but at the same time small enough to easily hold 4 balls in one hand. Even many younger smaller jugglers are able to hold and release 4 from one hand easily.
-Since the weight of the ball is in the bottom when it is in your hand the ball will make its way to the middle of the palm and you get to throw the ball from the same position in the hand pretty much each time. Beanbags might end up at a less perfect place in the palm and can make throws go in the wrong direction
-You can literally catch the ball with your fingers open. This also means that you are not in the need to grab the ball at the exact right time (you normally naturally do when the ball hits your hand though) which can make it easier to catch the ball in for instance reverse shoulder throws where you catch the ball out of vision.
-They are very good for balances and the now popular “pinball” and “bbb” juggling is much easier with this kind of ball than other balls.
-The NORWIKs come in 6 different colors including white. It can be of big importance to choose a color that gives a good contrast to your background where you juggle. It will give you more useful information for your brain when you clearly see the direction of the ball. Due to the rather inexpensive price compared to other balls an option can be to get more than one set so you can have an optimal contrast to the different places you juggle. All the team NORWIK members use at least 2 different colors for different locations and occasions. An example could be white on a dark stage and blue in a light practice space.
-The NORWIKs don´t shrink on the airplane due to a tiny hole in the ball. This also helps the ball stay round when you practice. Sometimes Russians can get a bump when you press on one side but due to the hole, air can get back into the balls and they quickly go back to their original form.
-All the NORWIK 75mm balls weigh 70 grams. By not offering a custom weight option we can make sure the balls will handle the way they are supposed to. Also it will make it easier for you when you only need to decide on the color. (A heavier “POWERNORWIK” is in the works. A ball around 250 grams for training strength and endurance)
-The NORWIKs are not sticky and this allows for a cleaner release both while starting several balls from one hand and during running a pattern.
-When you throw the NORWIK the sand will disperse throughout the ball giving a very precise direction when being thrown.
-The NORWIKs don´t wobble in the air like some jugglers might find Russians to do.
-They are very easy to throw high because of the lightness and the way the sand sort of hits the top of the shell kicking the ball up.
-Happy juggling! Enjoy your NORWIKs :-)
